ICT for Development and Social Good 2021/2022

This forum brings together experts and scholars from all across Asia to talk about various themes under the ambit of Information and Communication Technologies for Development (ICT4D). It will present an excellent opportunity to network, build capacity and increase cooperation between women ICT4D researchers from the Asian region.

The iPiD-Asia School 2020 is an online school that aims to elevate postgraduate students in the Asia region on their understanding and promote differences in perspective regarding the field of Information and Communications Technologies for Development (ICT4D).

Several IPID-members participated in a symposium held at the Royal Holloway, University of London, during 14th – 15th September 2006. The symposium was organised by the ICT4D Collective, led by Professor Tim Unwin

PP directs SAPS to ensure SALA pays pensions and apologizes to the complainants

In one of 13 reports that PP Adv. Busisiwe Mkhwebane released last Wednesday, she dealt with matter involving failure by the SAPS to timeously submit disability claims on behalf of seven of its employees to the SA Local Authorities Pension Fund in line with the rules of the Fund.

The late submission of the claims financially prejudiced the complainants, who are also members of the Fund.

She directed the National Commissioner of the SAPS to see to it that the complainants are paid what they owed (varying amounts from R600k to R1.7m depending on the merits of each case).

She directed that the payouts must come with interest. SAPS must also conduct an audit to check how many other employees may be affected.

Also, SAPS must apologize to the affected in writing.
